Hello everyone! It is the end of 2023!
It has been almost two months since I last posted, mostly due to a lot going on in my personal life. But I am back to reflect on the goals I set almost a year ago.
My 2023 Goals
Goal One
I did make a blog, so that was easy.
Another part of this goal was my aim to post fortnightly. Evidently, I have not done that. I have several blog posts sitting unfinished in my drafts about various shows and events I’ve been to, and even a Christmas one I will probably save until next year now.
Goal Two
Goal number two of 2023 was to go out more. I have definitely succeeded. I’ve been to several shows this year, both on the West End and locally. I attended a few conventions and succeeded in making lots of friends. Even though I didn’t write about everything on my blog, and some are written about in drafts, I feel like this goal has helped a lot with my mental health.
Goal Three
Unfortunately, I did not query my book this year as I had planned. It is still being revised and re-edited as I completely changed it ending.
2024 Goals
I am not the kind of person who sets New Year’s Resolutions as I try to make positive changes whenever I can manage. But, for my blog, I will be aiming for some goals. I have decided on three goals to keep it consistent with 2023.
One
To post at least once a month.
I enjoy posting and sharing my thoughts on my blog, but it is difficult to keep up with posting fortnightly or weekly, especially as I work and study and have various other personal things going on. So, I will aim for one post a month. I might also try to write some more posts in advance so that I have something to post for when things are a bit hectic and I don’t have the time to sit down and write much.
Two
Goal number two is to complete a draft of a new novel. As my editing nears completing, I want to work on a new novel that I can move onto. While I have many ideas and many scenes floating around my head and hard drive, I rarely turn any of them into a completed draft.
This time next year, I want to have a novel ready to be rewritten and revised.
Three
Finally, my last goal related to my last goal for this year. I want to publish my book. After a lot of deliberation, I have decided that traditional publishing is not the route I want to take, for many reasons. Instead, I intend to self publish my first book. By this time next year, I hope to have a physical copy of it on my bookshelf and be able to share links with people on where they can buy my book.
Well, thank you for reading! If this is the first post of mine you are reading, I’d love for you to check out some the posts I’ve enjoyed writing the most this year, like this one about Back To The Future: The Musical or my review of Boots, a book by indie author and booktuber Julian Greystoke.
If you’re not following me already, here are the links to my Instagram and Tumblr.
And finally, I hope you are all well and have a good year. Happy New Year!
